This complete lesson was created in collaboration with three other teacher candidates as a way to use a multicultural text as a springboard in a lesson with accommodations for an English language learner. Students read the story Seeds of Change by Jen Cullerton Johnson and complete a storymap key visual to organize facts from the story. Students will then use the same storymap key visual to organize research about a local environmental sustainability initiative. Students will create an endoresement for their researched initiative using any medium of their choice.
